(1971) This drool-worthy piece of forbidden fruit has tempted many a visitor to OA over the years. OA never touted its Disney affiliation over the years. When one came across this 'display sample' hanging high in the rafters at OA, the connection was loud and clear. Sign of this design were created during that first run for the Polynesian Village Resort back in 1971. Before later remodels these large format, DOUBLE-SIDED directional signs hung all over the Great Ceremonial House lobby and shopping concourse. The double sided sign reads "BAYVIEW TERRACE RESTAURANT & COFFEE SHOP VILLAGE SHOPS and LOBBY SEA LEVEL on the opposite. It's large at 7 feet across. Like most of the OA/PVR signage, it is made of California Redwood. This particular sign remained at OA in that it was rejected for a minor error of front/reverse placement. A large and historic relic of OA-Disney. Before bidding, be aware special freight requirements will be needed. 23.5"x84"x2". VG+ with typical wear.
