(1940) A somewhat historic piece is this early balsa wood menu from Don the Beachcomber in Chicago, IL. It was out of this location that Don's really bloomed and some of the components such as his master bartenders and cocktail menu grew. Artifacts from the Chicago Don's are very hard to come by. That's why this fragile balsa wood menu, even in very worn condition is special. The pages are made of extremely thin balsa with graohics screen printed on them. A testament to the authenticity illusion Donn Beach was willing to expose his visitors to. Four pages bound with raffia fiber. Very rare. GOOD to FAIR with edge chipping and overall fragile. 6.25"x14" closed.
