(1990s) A fantastic creation by the true Godather of TIKI: LeRoy E. Schmaltz! This creative ensemble makes use of found objects, as was the medium of choice for LeRoy. A wooden CD tower was repurposed and created the foundation for this PNG aboriginal ancestral figure, standing at a lecturn with a mounted abstract lizard character mounted on the facing. The colors are beautiful earthen polychome with raffia adornments and fiberous dreadlocks for the figure. The execution is classic LeRoy and if one was to own just one defining Schmaltz piece, this is certainly a candidate for a such a keystone example. Features hammered copper pupils for that extra spark of life! *MAX'S SOUTH SEAS HIDEAWAY in Grand Rapids, Michigan maintains the largest collection of vintage Polynesian Pop and Tiki decor of any commercial venue in the world.
